"Excellent on all fronts; Collyer Bristow's family team maintains a reputation for
doing an excellent job through highly contested ancillary relief and children
proceedings."
"Their family lawyers are admired for their diplomatic approach, and always come up
with realistic solutions and keep the temperature down in situations that are very
emotional."

Our family team includes seven well respected partners and consultants, and is recognised as one
of the country's leading family law practices. Four partners are fellows of the International
Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and one is a senior member of the family committee of the
International Bar Association. Many of our cases require an international perspective and we
provide expert advice on issues relating to jurisdiction. We also have strategic partnerships with
overseas law firms.
Our team includes a founder member of Resolution, of which all our family lawyers are members;
we are actively involved in Resolution at both a regional and national level and endorse its
principles. Several members of the team are qualified in collaborative law and mediation.
We aim to achieve practical solutions quickly and effectively and are known for our realistic
approach and ability to negotiate and resolve complex financial settlements, as well as our
sensitive handling of cases involving children. We are approachable and pragmatic when dealing with
our opponents. However, where necessary, we are forceful and vigorous in protecting the interests
of our clients.
